So if a picture is worth a thousand words, I wonder how many words an animation is worth…
This animations is based on a true story… and I’m not a pessimist, it’s just rain has personal issues with me u_u
Life: simply explained by Dalia, made at DoInk.com
Colors by Kira Willey is one of my all time favorite songs. Yesterday I was bored (nothing new here) so I made an animation for the song. I didn’t spend much time on it and now it looks kinda awful u_u
Fact: animating is fun!
Anyway, it’s up to you, you can either:
1. watch the animation with audio but with bad quality, here:
.
.
2. watch the animation with awesome quality and no audio.

There’s always the option of not watching the animation at all, but then reading this post would be a waste of time…
Instead of blank books, I have shelves full of school & uni textbooks. I use them for the exact same purpose.
Every time I try to draw something, I end up making doodles of absolutely no meaning. My skills are degrading and drawings are getting more childish with time, but it’s so much fun to draw those characters I don’t even care about drawing skills anymore ^_^

Sorry to all Disney fans about the Megara attempt up there…

Just because I felt like coloring…
It’s about time for an update…
I’ve been following this pretty cool webcomic for a while. It’s about a bunch of geeks with ambitions…
It’s called Not Invented Here. Updated frequently… (you might enjoy it more if you start reading from page#1)
Another thing worth sharing is this new game on Kongregate: One and One Story. Found about it two days ago, and instantly fell in love with it! Reminded me a lot of The Company of Myself (which is also one of my favorite games).
Here’s a walkthrough I made to One and One Story. The game has two endings, did you know?
I’ve had the idea of this project for a while: to turn an old toy keyboard into a MIDI keyboard. But only today I started working on it… It turned out to be way easier than I thought, and I almost finished writing the code. Had to test it (or part of it) on a keypad cuz the keyboard isn’t ready yet. Arduino scans the keypad for changes (buttons pressed/released) and sends the appropriate MIDI data to PC using serial port. PC reads serial data then converts it to MIDI sound. End of story.
I’m too sleepy to write full scentences, so I guess pictures will do. Will write more about it later!

The broken toy keyboard taken apart. I don’t think I’ll be using any of the electronics it has. Yay for spare parts…

Nothing important here. that’s what I used to test the code: a keypad (as a mini music keyboard) and an arduino.
test was successful, I need to increase debouncing time though…
So here’s the first test :) sorry for the awful quality, I had to use the webcam to film it… also, sorry about that Carmen part, played it all wrong…

WARNING: Long post ahead!
For an unbiased feed/view of the event, read here! (Arabic)
I’m probably always over-excited about something, and this month’s subject (or one of many subjects) for my over-excitement was: AmmanTT E-ftar Edition.
I attended, and, well I was a little bit disappointed! Again, probably because of my over-excitement. But over all it was pretty cool! I had fun :) More than half of the people I saw there were JU students, which made the event more like a not-really-planned field-trip!
The event started at about 7:30 (Maghrib Prayer): Open buffet time! The food was great, loved the salads :) At 8:45 speaker #1 started his presentation: Ala’ Alsallal, Jamalon CEO. He was to speak about Entrepreneurship in the US vs. Jordan. Every speaker was supposed to have only 5 minutes (some got more than that), but 5 minutes were not enough for Mr. Alsallal to finish his presentation :/ He started by giving examples on how the US supports entrepreneurs, but never got to the part about Jordan’s support for entrepreneurs. It’s kinda sad, I really wish they gave him more time.
Group #2 of speakers were Muhammad Arrabi (Microsoft Jordan) and the 3rd place holders in the last Imagine Cup competition, the Oasys team. They got about 15 minutes, but the presentation was well worth the extra time. They talked about their experience in the Imagine Cup competition and shared 10 useful tips to actually win the Imagine Cup. This was my favorite part and the tips were great. I think it would’ve been useful if the other speakers yesterday have seen those tips before giving their presentations.
Speaker #3 was Thekra Dwairi, Project specialist @ HP. She talked about her experience with TechWomen. She was cool but needed more time for her presentation (again!). I didn’t really get the concept of TechWomen (gonna do some extensive googling later), nor got the point she was trying to make. What caught my attention is that she used Prezi instead of PowerPoint :D Loved that!
Group #4 of speakers were the Hex Jordan team, students at GJU. They were to talk about the Spider Robot they made. I was really excited about that but was VERY disappointed! Their presentation was more like a graduation project seminar, over detailed and no real pictures. They should’ve at least put a short video of the Robot in action! The robot was great, the presentation wasn’t.
Speaker #5 put a smile on my face once I heard the name: Khaled Gharaibeh, Mobile Advertising Platform Manager at Javna, and one of my favorite Jordan “twitterians”! His tweets are great, his presentation: not so great. Talked about integrating CRM with social networks.
Speaker #6 was Nidal Khalifa from AKTCO. Talked about his company, Interactive Boards, Tech, and education. Didn’t really listen to what he said :/
Speaker #7 was more interesting: Ammar Mardawi, Kindi Software CEO, talked about software online sales. His presentation was a collection of facts (or theories that made sense!) and Tips&Tricks about starting online stores and selling products online. Loved it :)
Last speaker was Ayd Mahdy Asraf, NOC Engineer at Aspire. Talked about Cloud Computing: definition, how it started, pros and cons, and how it works! I thought it was the most informative presentation yesterday, and I loved it! (Gotta admit I’m not totally unbiased here since he graduated from JU last year and I kinda know him :D )
After all speakers were done, we got to watch yesterday’s episode of Bath Bayakha. I’m not really a big fan of Bath Bayakha but it was fun! And that was all… Really wanted to stay a little bit more after the event was finished, to share views and chat, stuff like that. Unfortunately, the weather was kinda cold and one of the people attending with me was freezing so I had to leave early, probably the first to leave!
21, Aug. Updated: Repainted the water.
UPDATED: Did some tweaks here and there.
Quick GIMP Painting… Tablet working again!
Also added another (a little bit old) picture to the gallery ^_^
